Keita Takashi To Bring His Own Style To MMO Glitch

If you like Katamari Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi, you may have heard that he’s joined up with the developer of an MMO named Glitch, Tiny Speck. Takahashi and his family have moved across the world from Tokyo to Vancouver, Canada.

"It was intuition. I just like Glitch!" Takahashi revealed, speaking to Gamasutra about his decision. Since most of the development time on Glitch thus far has been spent primarily on technology development, Takahashi has joined the project in time to bring his own style to the game’s design.

"Going forward, Keita will be a part of [Glitch‘s] core game design," Tiny Speck founder, Stewart Butterfield, revealed. He added that Tiny Speck are also working on mobile apps that will tie into the main game and help players progress.

He later stated: “What we want to do is make something with a strong ‘flavor,’ just like Keita’s previous work. We want to appeal to a broad audience, but we want to make something that’s pure, that has a strong imaginative vision behind it. It might mean that fewer people will like it, but the people that do like it will like it a lot more.”
