False Alarm: Nintendo 3DS eStore, Browser Will Be Available On Day One

Recommended Videos

Earlier in the week, based off a Wired report, we echoed that the Nintendo 3DS eStore and Internet browser would not be available at the system’s launch. If you were concerned about the absence of those features, don’t be — it was merely a misinterpretation of wording.

Nintendo of Europe cleared the issue up with Eurogamer. While the eStore and the browser (which needs to be downloaded from the eStore) will not be present on 3DS launch systems, a firmware update available on the same day (March 25th or 27th for Europe or North America respectively) will give you access to both.

We still aren’t certain when you’ll be able to transfer DSiWare games over from Nintendo DSi systems, however. For further information on the 3DS eStore, you can read our post pertaining to the subject.
