If you like the action-RPG gameplay of Black Myth: Wukong, try Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Black Myth: Wukong isn’t totally a Soulslike game, but it shares some common elements, which means going with an actual FromSoftware title like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn’t a bad idea! It involves the One-Armed Wolf protecting his lord in ancient Japan. Mastering swordplay and facing memorable bosses is key to survival and success.

You can find it on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it usually costs $59.99 (Amazon).

If you like the mythology element of Black Myth: Wukong, play Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

Black Myth: Wukong is a take on Journey to the West. It doesn’t exactly go beat by beat, however. Which is why Enslaved: Odyssey to the West could be a good game like Black Myth: Wukong to play. People follow Trip, a young woman who is heading to the west on a journey alongside Monkey, a man she met when escaping a slave ship. While it is sort of an “escort mission” game, with him guiding her and keeping her safe, it’s handled very well! It is also set in a post-apocalyptic world, offering an unusual take on the myth.

It is available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, and you can find it for $19.99.

If you like the setting of Black Myth: Wukong, try Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

The time period isn’t exactly the same. With Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science takes us to “ancient China,” and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a game set during the Han Dynasty. So the timing is sort of similar? You’re still getting that historical appeal. Both games are also set during China, so the atmosphere isn’t dissimilar as well. Wo Long also features similar sorts of gameplay, with players challenging famous figures, so you might dig it for that reason as well!

You can find this game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and PC, and it is usually $59.99 (Amazon).

If you want Black Myth: Wukong, but with multiplayer, try Elden Ring

If you like Black Myth: Wukong, but want a game with multiplayer, consider a title like Elden Ring. They both are action-RPGs. They have massive bosses. There are Soulslike elements. But you actually do have multiplayer in Elden Ring! You can play cooperatively with others, or take part in PvP. That might make it a good option for you.

Elden Ring is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it is usually $59.99 (Amazon).

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

Did you know Dragon Ball is also based on Journey to the West, just like Black Myth: Wukong?

Okay, since I’m making this list, I 100% can be a little silly with it if I want. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis a really fun game! Sure, it completely goes off of the Journey to the West story pretty quickly. But it’s a substantial game! Son Goku is based on Sun Wukong too! He uses a staff, just like the Destined One! He was able to transform, before he lost his tail!

Yes. It’s a stretch. But if you need a little levity after a more serious game, this could offer it.

You can find it on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it will cost you around $20 (Amazon) if you’re lucky.

Black Myth: Wukong is available on the PS5 and PC worldwide.
