Which Ova Magica Starter to Pick

The hardest decision in any creature-taming game is what starter you should pick, and this dilemma is no different in Ova Magica. You will be presented with three eggs, signifying one of three typings, and that’s all you have to base your decision on. In this guide, we will suggest what we think is the best starter for Ova Magica.

What are the three starters in Ova Magica

There are three starters in Ova Magica, and they all represent one of three types: forest, storm or magma. All three blobs will have a default name, which you can change. Each blob also has two moves; one is the dash attack alongside another move representing their typing.

Which Ova Magica starter should you pick

We recommend going with the magma type because, from personal experience, there are fewer opportunities to find this typing. Ideally, you will want one of each typing in your squad, so no matter what battle you come across, you will at least have one blob who will be super effective to the opponent.

You can get a forest type blob very early on in Ova Magica. The first festival that occurs will have a huge egg-hunt mini-game, where you will collect as many eggs as possible under a time limit. You should be able to collect enough eggs to buy a bunny blob egg from Flint at the festival event.

You can very easily come across a storm type blob as well. After you obtain a fishing rod from Garnet, which you will get from talking to her for the first time, you can fish by rivers or seasides. If you participate in enough wild blob battles from fishing, they will eventually drop a crab blob egg, which will be part of the storm typing family. If you follow this, you will then have a diverse team representing all typings.

Another quick tip: no matter what starter you eventually pick, after day two, if you head to the breeder building in the Clover Valley and approach one of the eggs, they will give you one of the blob eggs for absolutely free.
