Once you beat the main story in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, the content doesn’t stop there. There are plenty of new items to collecting, including the FFXIV Ttokrrone Scale material item. This item is well worth finding since it allows you to unlock one of the most surprising rewards in the expansion’s endgame.
How to Get Ttokrrone Scale in FFXIV
There is only one way to get Ttokrrone Scale at this time in the game. This is an item you can’t sell on the market or trade so you will have to find all of the scales you need on your own. If you want to get some scales, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your preferences, you’re going to need to do some FATEs.
More specifically, you’re going to need to do the FATE called The Serpentlord Seethes. The only problem with this is you aren’t guaranteed to find this FATE anytime you are playing the game. It only shows up every so often so you may need to have some patience. You can generally find The Serpentlord Seethes around X: 22.5, Y: 5.2 in Shaaloani. It is a level 100 FATE and requires completion of four required Serpentlord FATEs first. Completing it will give you the chance to earn a Ttokrrone Scale.
How to Unlock the Mehwapyarra Whistle Mount Item
The point of the Ttokrrone Scale in FFXIV Dawntrail is to unlock a special mount. The mount is the Mehwapyarra one, which is absolutely adorable. You can only get it through these scales. Unfortunately, you need to collect a whopping 12 of them to get the whistle to unlock this mount. This means completing this FATE at least 12 different times.
Once you collect 12 of these scales, you can unlock this mount by heading to the following location:
- Solution Nine: X: 8.7, Y: 13.5
Speak with the NPC trader there named Uah’shepya and you’ll be able to get this mount whistle under the Sublime Curiosities section.
