Players will once again be able to preoccupy themselves with finding Aether Currents in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. The first region many players will encounter in FFXIV Dawntrail is Kozama’uka, home of the Hanuhanu and the Moblins, has plenty of Aether Currents to collect. The map is separated into two layers, the lower being visited first and the story taking you later towards the upper in the Main Story Quests.
Like the other regions, there are 10 field Aether Currents to pick up across the map, and 5 quest-related Aether Currents. One is obtained just by progressing the Main Scenario Quest in the area, but the other 4 come specifically from Side Quests, which are designated by a blue bubble with a cross attached to it.
How to Find Aether Currents
The Aether Compass can help players locate the currents on the field, guiding them in the shortest direction to it. If you removed it from your hotbars after finding all of them last expansion, it can be found in your collections. This will be helpful in every zone as it will point out where to go to find the next field Aether Current.
Where to Find Every Aether Current in Kozama’uka
Here is a map and a breakdown of where to find the Aether Currents and the relevant Side Quests. The green dots are the field Currents, and the blue are the Side Quests relevant to them.
Aether Current Map Coordinates
- 1: X: 8.7 Y: 11.5 Z:0.0 – In Uyuyub, by the House of Winds High, near the tree’s roots.
- 2: X: 9.4 Y: 17.9 Z:0.0 – In the caverns under the waterfalls.
- 3: X: 27.7, Y: 7.6, Z: 0.0 – In Uyuypoga, on an island in the river north of House of Waters High.
- 4: X: 31.9, Y:14.4 – North of the main road in Uyuypoga, on the way to House of Waters High.
- 5: X: 39.8, Y: 13.5, Z: 0.1 – At the end of the pier in the farthest east side of Uyuypoga, Dock Poga.
- 6: X: 6.3, Y: 23.7, Z: 1.3 – In a cave past The Imperious ruins in the Glostfired Bank.
- 7: X: 23.9, Y: 31.9, Z: 1.1 – On an Island in the middle of Marsh Ligaka in Miyakabek’zoma.
- 8: X: 31.2, Y: 38.0, Z: 1.2 – On the southern cliffs of The Dewspun Bank, near the boat to Tuliyollal.
- 9: X: 22.5, Y: 27.0, Z: 1.1 – On the small islands along the road of Miyakabek’zoma.
- 10: X: 15.5, Y: 34.3, Z: 1.1 – Amidst the shipwecks north of the Shoals of No Return.
Aether Current Side Quest Locations
- Complete the Side Quest “Ripe for the Offering” from A’anuhanu at X: 20.0, Y: 11.7, Z: 0.0
- Complete the Side Quest “Rite of the Wind’s Chosen” from Lanuhanu at X: 16.5, Y: 10.3, Z: 0.0
- Complete the Side Quest “Divine Inspiration” from Vendavoq at X: 11.6, Y: 26.9, Z: 1.1
- Complete the Side Quest “All Good Potpacts Must Come to an End” from Movamuq at X: 11.0, Y: 27.8. Z: 1.1.
The last Aether Current in this zone will be found by completing the Main Scenario Quest “Sibling Rescue.” Once that’s done, and all the others have been collected, players will be able to fly to their heart’s content across Kozama’uka making completing FATEs and gathering items a whole lot easier.
