As part of a massive update on June 27, 2024, Pocketpair brought a new Sakurajima Tower boss pairing to their hit survival game. If you feel you’re ready to face them, here’s how to find Saya and Selyne in Palworld, as well as our recommendations for what level you need to be and what you need to do to beat them.

How do I find Saya and Selene in Palworld?

To find Saya and Selyne, you must first head to the new area, Sakurajima Island. It is located in the north west area of the map. Equip a swimming or flying Mount Pal, like Ragnahawk, to ensure you get there without drowning. The island is littered with high level Pals, so make sure your level is high enough to explore the Japanese inspired island. (I’d say level 40 minimum.)

You will need to locate the Moonflower Tower, as Saya is the Tower boss for Sakurajima Island in Palworld. Head towards the Sakura Dancing Shrine, where you will see the large tower structure. I shared a screenshot of the map below, to help you figure out the exact spot.

Beating the Moonflower boss, Saya, will not be a simple task, as true with all Tower bosses. You need to be at least level 50 to engage her. With new Pals roaming around Sakurajima Island, gaining a few levels with the capture bonus will help lessen the gap between you and the boss. However, reaching the new cap of level 55 will make the fight a lot easier. This goes for your equipped Pals as well.

How do I beat Saya and Selyne in Palworld?

Like with every Tower boss, Saya and Selyne have an enormous pool of health that totals to 261,000. It will be tough to dwindle that down in the allotted 10 minutes for completion. To help ease the burden, bring Dragon type Pals to aid you in battle. Selyne is a Dark and Neutral elemental Pal susceptible to Dragon Pals’ attacks and abilities.

Below are list of Dragon Pals that I think would be useful in this battle:

  • Astegon
  • Blazemut Ryu
  • Jetragon
  • Jormuntide
  • Xenogard

Use your Dragon Pal to draw the concentration of fire from Selyne, while you focus on attacking Saya. When fighting Saya, Selyne will blast a damaging beam that rotates slowly when the player moves. Evading by using the dodge mechanic is crucial, as this attack will inflict a lot of damage. There are pillars lodged in place around, making it easier to reload or switch out Pals.

Equip powerful weapons to make targeting Saya more effective. The Rocket Launcher and grenades deal significant amounts of damage, with the Rocket Launcher inflicting 10,000 or more.

A common strategy amongst Tower boss battles is to distance yourself from the target. Keeping a good distance between yourself and the boss will help you see the choreographed attacks and beams. This also keeps you from taking unnecessary damage from physical attacks.

Due to the amount of damage Saya and Selyne deal, bringing legendary armor is paramount to your survival. I recommend the equipment listed below:

  • Hyper Shield
  • Legendary Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor
  • Legendary Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor
  • Pal Metal Helm

Palworld is available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
