Here is the Honkai: Star Rail Firefly trailer:

You can also watch it in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Though the trailer starts out like a sort of demonstration of Firefly’s capabilities in battle, it moves on to focus on her determination to make her own choices in life until her inevitable death. The shots of Firefly inside of her SAM suit are similar to the shots Marvel Studios employs for Tony Stark inside Iron Man. As well, the particle-like wings that emerge from the back of SAM’s suit are similar to that of the Moonlight Butterfly from Turn A Gundam or the Wings of Light effect from Gundam Seed Destiny’s Destiny Gundam. It’s unclear if HoYoVerse used any of the above properties, or similar mecha-focused media, for inspiration.

Firefly will be a 5-star Fire Destruction unit who’ll be in the first phase of Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.3. She’ll specialize in Break Effect damage, which will make her perfect on teams with characters like Ruan Mei or Harmony Trailblazer. The new Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge and Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern Relic Sets will also match her kit.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 2.3 of Honkai: Star Rail will go live on June 19, 2024.
