Bandai Namco revealed more details on Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero battle modes, and one of them will let players produce their own custom fight scenes. This feature will be available in the Custom Battle Mode.
Players will be able to set the stage rules and characters who will appear on both sides. They can also create their own cutscenes that they can trigger at certain points during the fight. They can even determine the characters’ poses, facial expressions, and quotes. Once they are satisfied with the result, they can upload the custom stage to the global server.
The Custom Battle mode will also contain Bonus Battles. These will consist of stages produced by Bandai Namco staff members with the above features, so they can also act as examples for the full-blown edit mode.
In addition to custom battles, Sparking Zero will also have an Episode Battle mode where the player can follow the Dragon Ball Z and Super storylines from the perspectives of eight available characters, such as Goku and Vegeta. This mode will also include branching routes that depend on the player’s conversation choices and battle performances.
The new video detailing the battle modes is available to watch via Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel:
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be available first in Japan for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 10, 2024. The global release date, which includes the PC release on Steam, will be October 11, 2024.
