Players can now blow up Stormtroopers in style with the Thermal Detonator in Lego Fortnite, courtesy of the Star Wars crossover update. The new explosive brings a much-needed addition to the weapon utility in the game, if players are able to craft it.
How do I craft a Thermal Detonator in Lego Fortnite?
To obtain Thermal Detonator in Lego Fortnite, players will first need to craft it. To do this, players need to build a Rebel Workbench. You can do this by progressing through the Star Wars-themed storyline and obtaining five wood and eight Plastoid.
Once you have a Rebel Workbench, head there to craft the Thermal Detonator with the following materials once you have them:
- 1 Blast Core
- 2 Durasteel
Where do I get Durasteel and a Blast Core?
The tricky part about obtaining the Thermal Detonator is finding its materials in Lego Fortnite. Durasteel is the first material you need and you can generally only find it on the Star Wars island. You can find this in treasure chests or make it with a Metal Smelter and some Scrap Durasteel. For the Blast Core, you need to defeat some Blasters (special versions or Rollers) within a Dry Valley biome cave.
Once you have the Thermal Detonator, you are able to throw it on the ground in front of enemies. It works on a timed detonation, so you don’t want to stay too close to it. Once it blows up, the explosive deals a whopping 23 damage to the surrounding area, which is far more than any other weapon in the game at this time. This makes the Thermal Detonator particularly great for destroying multiple enemies or structures at the same time.
Lego Fortnite is available right now for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices.
