The Tekken 8 and Chipotle has begun, and players will be able to earn in-game currency by ordering from the restaurant chain. A special Tekken 8 Battle Bowl will also be added to the menu.
Customers ordering through the Chiptotle website and app can earn currency for use in the Tekken 8 shop. By using the promo code EWGF623, players will receive a code for 500 Tekken Coins, enough to grab a character costume from the Tekken Shop. The code is a reference to the Electric Wind God Fist move, used by members of the Mishima family throughout the Tekken series. Chipotle reward members can also earn an additional 500 Tekken Coins by trading in their points. These Tekken Coins are only redeemable with the PlayStation or Xbox versions of the game. The promotion opens on April 8, 2024, and closes either on August 31, 2024, or when all 20,000 codes have been claimed.
In addition, a Tekken 8 themed item will be added to the Chipotle digital menu. The Tekken 8 Battle Bowl contains ingredients selected via a social media poll. These are chicken, white rice, black beans, tomato salsa, roasted chilli-corn salsa, fajita veggies, cheese and guac.
Chipotle will also be acting as the sponsor of a Tekken 8 tournament taking place on PS5. The restaurant will be the first sponsor within Sony’s PS5 Tournaments platform, with a final airing on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels on May 4, 2024. Winners can receive a trip to EVO 2024, free Chipotle for a year and a share of $20,000.
Tekken 8 has also been unofficially connected with another restaurant chain recently. Players have been requesting a Waffle House stage, causing confusion from series producer Katsuhiro Harada.
Tekken 8 is out now for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. The first DLC character, Eddy Gordo, is also out now.
