The new title will take players to the Veiled Sea, an unexplored region with over 500 species of marine life to discover and interact with. Some of these species were previously thought extinct, and even mythical species can be found.

The new multiplayer aspect of the game allows players to communicate and emote with each other, as well as share discoveries of new species and areas of the Veiled Sea. Players are free to team up and explore together, or swim independently and share their findings later.

You can check out the reveal for Endless Ocean Luminous on the Nintendo Direct February 2024 video below. The game footage appears at the 20:33 mark.

The first two Endless Ocean titles were developed by Arika and released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii on 2007 and 2009 respectively. The series is known in Japan as Forever Blue.

Endless Ocean Luminous is coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 2, 2024 worldwide. Pre-orders for the game are now available on the Nintendo e-shop.
