How does Infinite Craft Save Your Progress?

Infinite Craft is a browser-based game gaining attention for its seemingly endless crafting options. However, since there are no accounts and no local downloading, some might wonder how the Infinite Craft save system works.

How to Save in Infinite Craft

Well, to put it simply, Infinite Craft keeps track of all your recipes through the site data, especially cookies. Cookies are essentially like pieces of data that your browser stores on your computer or phone directly from a website. That’s as in-depth as I intend to go, as I feel the topic could get way over my head fast.

However, the point is that the game essentially places these little saves on your device. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure your browser allows cookies, at least for the Infinite Craft site. Otherwise, you’re not saving your game. The game will save all of your uncovered recipes. However, it will not save your board state, and each reload of the page will have a fresh slate.

There are a few other pieces to keep in mind regarding Infinite Craft saves. One is that, obviously, if you clear cookies and site data on your browser, your save game goes with it. Depending on your browser, you may be able to select certain sites to be exempt from such clearing. (Which you should do every once in a while.)

Additionally, if for some reason you end up in an incognito tab, these do not save cookies or site data. Therefore, if you end up playing the game in a tab like this, it will not save data. Once you close that window, you’ll be looking at the fresh start page whenever you bring up the site again.

You can also manually clear your save data by pressing “reset” at the bottom left of the screen. It may actually be beneficial to clear your saves if you find yourself with hundreds of random creations and you’re getting overwhelmed trying to work on a specific recipe. However, do so with caution because you’ll never be able to get it back.
