Final Fantasy VII Rebirth gradually brings together the party members of the original 1997 game but in this remade PS5 trilogy. This even includes Vincent Valentine, who makes an appearance in this game as part of the main story. Here is what you need to know about when and how to get Vincent Valentine to join the party in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
When does Vincent Valentine join the party in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
Note: Spoilers ahead for the main story.
Vincent Valentine was an optional party member in the original game, but that isn’t the case here. He is more directly integrated into the main story, which means you don’t have to go out of your way to find him. What you want to do is continue the main story until you reach Chapter 11. At this point, the player will arrive in the Nibel Region.
You’ll have the goal of going up the mountain behind Nibelheim, and then later to Shinra Manor. What you want to do is complete the Shinra Manor dungeon, which involves playing as Cait Sith for the majority of it. After you finish this dungeon, you’ll meet Vincent. He will join the party soon after this, once the group leaves the Nibel Region to head back to the Gold Saucer for Chapter 12.
Is Vincent playable in FFVII Rebirth?
The key point players need to know about Vincent in FFVII Rebirth is he is an unplayable party member in this game. Like Cid, players can’t take on the role of Vincent in battles nor customize him. He is mostly a guest character, similar to how Red XIII was in the original Remake, except he doesn’t join the party in battles, for whatever reason.
That said, he does play a smaller role in the late story segments and cutscenes, including even as a possible date option in the Gold Saucer (sort of). Sadly, you will have to wait until the third game in the remade trilogy to play as Vincent Valentine and find out more about his complicated backstory.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for PS5.
