Coucougemu has opened pre-registrations for Hoshi Hikaru Sanran: Secret Love. The romance simulation game will star the character formerly known as the mascot character of Microsoft Silverlight. The title will be available on mobile devices in Japanese and Chinese languages. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
When the game launches, it will feature three scenarios where Hikaru gets different roles and personalities. The player can then unlock five more scenarios as they progress through the game. They can also chat with Hikaru with different situations based on the time of day.
The character was originally known as Aizawa Hikaru. Microsoft Taiwan produced her in 2010 as a mascot for the browser plugin Silverlight. The branch also used her to promote other Microsoft platforms like Azure. However, she ultimately retired around the same time Microsoft discontinued Silverlight in October 2021.
In 2022, the team that produced the character became independent and formed Coucougemu. It also changed her name to Hoshi Hikaru. The new company then held crowdfunding sessions to produce Hoshi Hikaru Sanran: Secret Love on the Taiwanese site Zeczec and the Japanese site Makuake, both of which ended successfully.
Hoshi Hikaru Sanran: Secret Love will be available as a free-to-download title for iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan and East Asia.
