Party setup for Change Relic in Persona 3 Portable

Change Relic lurks in the Arqa block of Tartarus on Floor 36. It’s not that Change Relic is a particularly tough Persona 3 Portable boss on its own. The issue is that the boss is a step up from nearly everything else at the time. One of the biggest hurdles is that Change Relic has no weaknesses. This means you can’t easily get any One More! or All-Out Attacks.

However, if you head into the battle prepared and with a decent party setup, it’s actually quite manageable. First things first, Junpei shouldn’t come anywhere near this fight. His weakness is wind, and Change Relic’s only attacking moves are all wind. You can leave him at the door or just let him die in an encounter beforehand. This also means you want to snag a persona with wind resistance and bring it along.

Again, Change Relic has no weaknesses, and with 850 HP, this isn’t exactly a quick fight. You’ll have to rely on normal damage and hope for a few critical hits. You can help by entering the fight with a character in “great condition,” which increases their critical rate. Additionally, the skill Rebellion, found on Personas like Legion, can boost the party’s critical rate for three turns.

Honestly, if you keep the healing up, there’s not a huge threat from Change Relic’s attacks. It does hit hard, but nothing you can’t recover from. It can poison you, so have some items or skills available to heal that. Otherwise, the fight really comes down to hitting Change Relic until it dies.
