Much like a lot of features, multiplayer is locked behind story progression. Thankfully, not long after entering Folca, players will have access to online multiplayer missions. Once you have spoken to all of your party members in Folca before heading to the mines, the game will allow you to access this feature.

Simply head to the Quest Counter by the tavern and speak to the NPC there. Here is where you can create online sessions to allow friends to join your game and engage in these special quests. These unique missions are unlocked through story progression and range from clearing waves of enemies, protecting a quest objective, and fighting some of the most challenging bosses in the game.

Are there any online multiplayer limitations?

Players can have duplicates of the same character in multiplayer quests, which means you can stack four Siegfrieds if you’d like, or go four Grans. It really depends on what you want to do.

However, you cannot play through the main scenario with other players. Online multiplayer is locked to what is available through the quest counter. So keep this in mind when looking to play together with friends.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available on the PS4 and PC.
