Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s second DLC, The Indigo Disk, is out now and tasks players with tons of Blueberry Academy side quests (BBQs). One of the recurring side quests asks a player to sneak up on a Pokemon and surprise them. Here’s how to do that.

How do I sneak up on Pokemon and surprise them?

If you want to know how to sneak up on a Pokemon and surprise them in The Indigo Disk, you want to start by locating a Pokemon you want to catch or defeat. Once you find it, press the B button once. This will make your character crouch down and a shadow will appear around them. This indicates you are currently in stealth mode.

From here, all you need to do is slowly move to the Pokemon in question behind them and touch them before the question mark appears over their head. This will enter into a battle where you successfully snuck up on the Pokemon and surprised it. This can be quite helpful for a variety of reasons in the DLC.

Why surprising Pokemon is useful

There are a couple of reasons why you would want to sneak up on a Pokemon in The Indigo Disk. For one, there are some skittish Pokemon, which will try and run away from you whenever they see you. Sneaking up on them will ensure they don’t try to run or fly away.

However, the most important reason for me is to complete these BBQs. They give you loads of BP, which you can use to unlock new features in the DLC, more Pokemon, and even buy certain items. If you want to grind for BP in The Indigo Disk, you’ll need to complete as many as BBQs as possible, such as the sneaking up on Pokemon one.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and its DLC The Indigo Disk is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
