Wei Cheng is out for revenge on the pirates who killed his friends and family, grabbing his trusty polearm to lay beat downs on any martial artist who tries to get in his way in 70’s Kung Fu movie-inspired 9 Monkeys of Shaolin.
Players, alone or with a co-op friend, will battle through fields, Buddhist temples, ruins, Japanese mansions, and pirate ships, growing from simple fishermen to Kung Fu masters through beating down anyone who steps up to them. They’ll have access to ten different polearms over the course of their journey to change up their fighting style, as each will allow the player to fight in different ways. There are also many different unlockable perks and fighting styles to continue to add variety to combat, as well as items to help out in a pinch.
9 Monkeys of Shaolin isn’t a solo mission of revenge, as a friend can hop in to lay beatdowns alongside the player in split-screen co-op.
9 Monkeys of Shaolin is set to release in 2018, according to its Steam Page.
