Earlier this year, Bandai rereleased a variation of the very first Tamagotchi in Japan in honor of its 20th anniversary. For ¥ 1,900 (~$17), people were able to get a smaller version of the original virtual pet in one of the six original shell colors. Now, this version of the Tamagotchi is coming to U.S.

The 20th anniversary Tamagotchi will be released on November 5, 2017. It will be officially cheaper to wait than import, as it will be $14.99. There will be six shell designs to choose from in this run. Since this is an exact recreation of the original, only smaller, that means there is one possible baby character, which can grow into one possible child design. The branching point is the teenager portion, since there are two characters at that point. The six main adults are Mametchi, Ginjirotchi, Masktchi, Kuchipatchi, Nyorotchi, and Tarakotchi. Though, if people spend a lot of time with the worldwide version of it, Bill will evolve from Masktchi.
