We got to check out Final Fantasy VII Remake’s latest trailer and gameplay at E3 2019 that included a Tifa reveal. Producer Yoshinori Kitase shared a few comments with Kotaku regarding how many games will be in the series.

To get straight to the point, when asked how many parts Final Fantasy VII Remake will have in the series, Kitase said, “We can’t reveal that many details about this.” Based on what we know so far, Final Fantasy VII Remake will have two Blu-ray discs worth of gameplay content in the first part alone, and it is set entirely set in Midgar which according to Square Enix is the size of an entire main-numbered Final Fantasy game.

“Before we actually started working on this, we knew it was going to be a large amount of content,” Kitase told the press at E3. When we started out planning the plot for the first game, it hit us again… at that point we decided we were going to focus first game on Midgar and what happens in Midgar. Unfortunately we can’t say anything more about the future games, because we don’t know ourselves.”

Lastly, Yoshinori Kitase added that the development team is simultaneously finishing Final Fantasy VII Remake’s first game while planning out the second game.
