Earlier, we got a look at Byleth’s introduction, as well as a first look at Anna in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Famitsu has now posted the full feature on the game, including introductions to the other key characters, such as the protagonist’s father Jeralt, as well as the leaders of the eponymous three houses.

Story

Every night, the protagonist, who travels as a mercenary alongside their father, dreams of wartorn plains where a battle is being settled, as well as a mysterious young girl. They meet several youths who are being attacked by a bandit, and just as Byleth is about to defend them, time around him suddenly stops, and the girl in their dreams appears. It would seem that this young girl, Sothis, saved the protagonist’s life. Saying that she would lend them her power, she leaves once more.

Thanks to the protagonist’s achievements in saving the students, who turn out to be the future leaders of Fodlan studying at Garreg Mach Monastery, he is invited to be a teacher, and gets caught up in the fate of these youths.

The continent of Fodlan is home to three countries. First, the Adrestian Empire, boasting over a thousand years of history, dominates the southern half. Meanwhile, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and their famous cavalier knights, rule the wintry northern Fodlan. Finally, the Leicester Alliance to the east is home to a league of multiple noble families who don’t swear fealty at all. While these three countries have warred against each other in the past, now they live in a balance of power.

At the center of the three territories is the Garreg Mach Monastery, home of the Goddess-worshiping Church of Seiros. The Officer’s Academy has been established at the Monastery to train the future generation of young students.

Three Houses

The students of the Academy are split into three houses based on which country they are from. At the start, the protagonist will choose one of the three houses, in order to train the students within that house.

Black Eagles

The Black Eagles are students hailing from the historical Adrestian Empire. Students from the Empire tend to be more adept in magic than fighting with weapons. The house leader is the heir apparent to the throne, Edelgard von Hræsvelgr.

Blue Lions

The house of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, led by Dimitri Alexandre Bladud, prince of the Kingdom and heir apparent. Perhaps it’s because of their reputation as a country of Knights, but this house is home to many students with an affinity for spears and lances.
