This week’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Smash Blog continues the trend of reiterating some of the new info from the Smash Direct, namely the Assist Trophies Alucard and Rathalos, and the New Donk City Hall stage. Ness and Duck Hunt also get spotlighted, as well as an arrangement of Yoshi’s New Island’s main theme.
#59 Duck Hunt
This duo excels at long-range attacks, like kicking exploding cans and throwing clay pigeons. For their Final Smash, three games from the Light Gun Series team up: Duck Hunt, Hogan’s Alley, and Wild Gunman!
#10 Ness
Ness has a variety of moves, from long-range attacks using psychic powers known as “PSI,” to short-range attacks with his bat and yo-yo. Ness can also unleash PK Thunder, a guided attack that can launch him like a rocket or help him recover!
Alucard – New Assist Trophy
Alucard will attack nearby opponents with a flurry of slashes. As the son of Dracula, he can also turn into a bat and charge at opponents farther away. By the way, when you read “DRACULA” backwards, you get…?
Rathalos – New Assist Trophy
This giant beast will appear when summoned, spreading its wings to create a powerful attack. Rathalos has fire breath and a roar that stuns opponents. Finding a opportunity to get an attack in can be difficult!
New Donk City Hall – New stage
This stage is based on Super Mario Odyssey‘s New Donk City. When a fighter touches a band member, their instrument gets added to the background track! Mayor Pauline also makes an appearance.
Yoshi’s New Island Main Theme – New arrangement
You can now listen to Shota Kageyama’s rhythmic arrangement of “Yoshi’s New Island – Main Theme.” Go, Yoshi!
Arrangement supervisor: Shota Kageyama (known for work on Luminous Arc, and Pokémon series)
