Fruitbat Factory has announced its next visual novel localization project. The company will be bringing SeaBed, an all-ages, yuri visual novel from Paleontology, in late 2017. Fruitbat Factory notes that this will be one of their largest translation projects.
In SeaBed, players follow Sachiko Mizuno, her friend Hibiki Narasaki, and her former girlfriend, Takako. Sachiko and Takako broke up, but Sachiko is still having hallucinations involving her. She turns to Hibiki for aid, since she’s a psychologist and specializes in human memories. Meanwhile, Takako is experiencing sudden and inexplicable memory loss. As people go through the psychological story, they’ll find out the truth behind Sachiko and Takako’s relationships and come to understand more about themselves and their stories.
Steam-specific SeaBed details were also announced. For example, this release of the game will support 1440×1080 resolution. Cloud saves will be available. People will even be able to earn achievements and Steam Trading Cards as they play.
SeaBed was released on PCs in Japan on January 25, 2016. Pre-orders for the English version are already available directly through Fruitbat Factory, with people who order ahead of launch getting the opportunity to get the game for $14.99, instead of $19.99.
