Akashic Re:cords By Record of Lodoss War Creator Shows Off Characters And Gameplay

Square Enix is teaming up with Kadokawa Games for the new smartphone game, Akashic Re:cords, with work by Record of Lodoss War creator Ryo Mizuno and characters designed by Nakaharu. Here’s the game’s latest trailer.

Not much is known about the gameplay, but it features work by Record of Lodoss War creator Ryo Mizuno. The story revolves around a group that signed a contract with the devil in order to regain the World of Books after it got invaded by worms. The battles are done in real-time, and it’ll also feature multiplayer co-op with friends.

Akashic Re:cords is expected to launch this year for smartphone. There’s also an early registration campaign going on for a chance to get some neat rewards for when the game launches.
