Just like last year, Nintendo are foregoing holding a traditional E3 press conference once again in 2014. Instead, they’ll be holding a number of smaller events, both at the E3 venue and at Best Buy events stores in the U.S.
Instead of an E3 press conference, Nintendo will host the “Nintendo Digital Event,” which they say will build upon their approach from last year, where they conveyed information about their upcoming games via a Nintendo Direct presentation. This year’s event will be a “new kind of video program” that will highlight games coming to Nintendo systems in 2014 and beyond. It will take place at 9 am on June 10th.
The second event is “Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3”. This event will feature Nintendo of America’s Product Development department (also responsible for localization of the company’s games) providing a look at games and demos from Nintendo’s E3 booth. This show will be live-streamed during all hours of the E3 show, and can be watched online.
Finally, a tournament featuring Super Smash Bros. For Wii U will be held at Best Buy stores across the U.S.
Nintendo say that further details will be revealed “shortly”.
