Marvelous AQL are teasing a new game for the Nintendo 3DS, which they say is from the developers of Rune Factory. Marvelous, as you know, publish the Rune Factory games.

A teaser website for the game states: “What have the developers of Rune Factory been up to lately? Making a new Rune Factory game? Or… something else, perhaps? The answer is coming soon…”

As of now, we’re unsure whether the message refers to staff within Marvelous AQL who have worked on the Rune Factory franchise, or whether it refers to members of the now-closed Neverland Co., which was the studio that Marvelous contracted to develop the Rune Factory series.

Neverland, as you may recall, filed for bankruptcy in December 2013, citing sluggish performance and deteriorating financial status.

Following news of Neverland’s bankruptcy, Rune Factory series producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto—an employee of Marvelous—stated: “As of now, it’ll still remain a secret as to what kind of title we’ll be releasing next, but I can say that the staff members are still doing great.”
