While Dead or Alive 5 had 114 costumes the player could access, Team Ninja have added even more for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate. Publisher Tecmo Koei say the game will have 231 costumes in total that you can unlock within the game.
Costumes can be unlocked using Grade Points, which are earned by fighting and winning matches. Winning consecutive ranked matches can earn you Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Fighter ranks. These ranks earn extra GP with wins, and defeating another ranked fighter nets you a GP bonus as well.
Additionally, Tecmo also announced two new feauters for the game, the first being a 2-on-2 tag mode where you and a friend can challenge other players online.
The second major feature is the introduction of “Character Points,” which indicate a player’s skill level with each character. You can use this to check if your opponent is using his or her best character or not, and where they place in the world ranking.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will be available in September for Xbox 360 and PS3.
