As previously reported, KAIO: King of Pirates will see an anime series in 2013. Now, Marvelous AQL have announced the production house behind the anime—Studio Pierrot, as reported by Anime News Network.

What else have Pierrot worked on? A whole lot of shows you’re likely familiar with, including Yu Yu Hakusho, Saiyuki, Flame of Recca, Ninja Robots, and of course, Naruto.

In addition to the anime series, KAIO will also see a manga series this year, as well as the videogame adaptation that the manga and anime are based on.
