Darksiders II has a new survival arena mode where you fight wave after wave of enemies. How many waves? Vigil say that there are 100 waves in total, and after every five waves, you’re given the choice of claiming a reward, or continuing on for another five waves for an even greater reward.
If you die before collecting your reward, you get nothing. Rewards can be carried over to the game’s regular story mode.
Speaking of which, Vigil also reveal that Darksiders II has a New Game+ mode. As you would expect, this means you can start the game over with all of your equipment and and skills intact from your previous playthrough.
Darksiders II will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 14th. A Wii U version will follow later in the year. You can find screenshots of the arena mode below.
