In May, Konami announced that they would be leveraging Hudson’s network expertise to help create social games based on popular Konami brands. That said, it looks like Hudson may have a future outside of social games yet.
Today, they tweeted that new game in their Bloody Roar fighting games series is in production. It will be a retail title and more of a series reboot. The original cast will return, including Hans, Mitsuko, and Greg.
Bloody Roar 5 is planned for release sometime in 2012. What platforms the game will be available on hasn’t been announced yet.
Since Hudson are tweeting about the game in English, it’s safe to assume that we’ll see the game released outside Japan. The other high-profile Hudson game coming our way is Tetris Axis on the 3DS, courtesy of Nintendo, while Namco Bandai publish it in Japan.
Update: Hudson just announced that Bloody Roar 5 is an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game. It’s slated for release in 2012.
