WayForward Developing 2D BloodRayne: Betrayal For Release This Summer

Seven years after the last game, Majesco are reviving the BloodRayne series. Teaming up with developer, WayForward Technologies, known for their work on Contra 4 and the Wii remake of A Boy and His Blob, Majesco will release BloodRayne: Betrayal as a downloadable game on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Unlike the previous games, BloodRayne: Betrayal will be a 2D side-scrolling action game. You’ll still play as Rayne who has been “recruited by the vampire hunting Brimstone Society for one final mission.” Majesco say this involves Rayne teaming up with a “mysterious new friend” to stop an evil vampire massacre.

While the game doesn’t have a release date yet, Majesco plan to release BloodRayne: Betrayal sometime this summer. All they’ve revealed of the game so far is a quick glimpse of concept art, and its logo, seen in the teaser video above.

Betrayal isn’t the only BloodRayne game Majesco have planned either. At E3 last year, a popular list of planned third-party Nintendo 3DS games made the rounds, and had BloodRayne: The Shroud listed on it. Majesco haven’t revealed anything about this game yet, however.
