Following visual novel publisher Minori’s publicized objection to fan-translations of their games on the TLWiki, another developer, CUFFS, have stepped up to defend their property as well. In a cease and desist letter sent to the administrator of TLWiki, a CUFFS representative wrote:
I’m one of the employees at CUFFS. I’m not very good with English, so I’ll write this in simple Japanese instead.
One of our copyrights, Yosuga no Sora, is currently included in your open translation project. However, we do not permit third parties to publicize {files of, presumably} or translate Yosuga no Sora.
Please stop your translation work on Yosuga no Sora and remove its script files.
We hope that you will do the right thing, as fans of Yosuga no Sora
.
Following the letter, TLWiki have removed all translation files pertaining to the Yosuga no Sora project.
