Shining Dragon brings “battle damage” brawling to the US?

Marvelous Interactive, a secondary source for anime games in Japan, hasn’t brought any of their anime games over to date. This might change. The connection is honestly loose, paper thin in fact, but it’s too interesting not to mention even if it’s mostly speculation. Gamefly has a listing for Shining Dragon as a PlayStation 2 fighting game to be published by Valcon Games, the company who quietly published Dai Senryaku VII: Exceed in North America.

Last year Insert Credit discovered Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon, a fighting game based on a manga with the draw of ripped clothes. When you get hit in the game your clothes are partially torn off. The image to the right is probably the extent of the damage so this doesn’t look any worse than say Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2. However, Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2 has a brand behind it, Ikki Tousen fans are a presumably small group outside of Japan.

Which brings us back to the original point is Valcon brave enough to gamble with Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon?
